The loose ring is a standard jaw piece. This jaw piece has separate rings which allow the bit to move more freely in the mouth, so that many horses better accept this bit. Because the rings move freely, aids come through less directly than with an eggbutt for example. To prevent skin from getting in between the moving rings, it is advisable to provide the bit with bit rings.
The mouthpiece with brass rings is a variant of the double-broken bit. The rings in the middle stimulate the horse to play with the bit. This increases the tongue activity, so that a horse will produce more saliva and the jaws can relax more, so that the horse is more likely to release in the mouth.
Sweet iron will rust when in contact with (air) humidity; the surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production. This will cause the horse to salivate more which will encourage the horse to take more contact. The process of rusting (oxidation) changes the blue colour of the TRUST-bit to a brownish-grey. A sweet iron bit will develop an orange-brown rust layer on the mouthpiece if it is temporarily not used. This is easily removed by wiping it off with a damp cloth.
The bits of TRUST equestrian are ultra-Dutch. All bits are designed, developed and handmade in the Netherlands. Every day a team of technical professionals works on the production of the TRUST bits. Trust bits are composed with the greatest care and made of the best materials, the quality control and standard is therefore very high.
TRUST bits are anatomically shaped. The balance between shape, material and weight is constantly taken into account. TRUST bits are slightly curved so that they are better shaped towards the horse’s mouth. Because of this anatomical shape, the bit lies better in the mouth and the pressure is better distributed.
