MediGuard Vitamin C is a concentrate product which aids in collagen synthesis. Vitamin C is an important antioxidant that works with Vitamin E to reduce free radicals. Normally, it is produced in sufficient quantities given the presence of enzyme, L-gulonolactone oxidase. That said, horses under stress from training and competition and the older or convalescing horse may have depleted plasma levels of Vitamin C, therefore, supplementation may be required to support immune function.
