This bit has two half rings in the jaw piece which offers more control than normal rings. This jaw piece has several options for attaching the reins, this way you can control how much pressure you want to apply. The cheek piece is attached to the top half ring and the reins can be attached to the large ring or to the bottom half ring. By attaching the reins to the large ring, pressure is applied to lower the head. When the reins are attached to the bottom half ring, the bit has a mild leverage for a better response. The loose rings keep the bit mobile in the mouth, which ensures good acceptance of the bit.
The mouthpiece with brass rings is a variant of the double-broken bit. The rings in the middle stimulate the horse to play with the bit. This increases the tongue activity, so that a horse will produce more saliva and the jaws can relax more, so that the horse is more likely to release in the mouth.
Sweet iron will rust when in contact with (air) humidity; the surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production. This will cause the horse to salivate more which will encourage the horse to take more contact. The process of rusting (oxidation) changes the blue colour of the TRUST-bit to a brownish-grey. A sweet iron bit will develop an orange-brown rust layer on the mouthpiece if it is temporarily not used. This is easily removed by wiping it off with a damp cloth.
The bits of TRUST equestrian are ultra-Dutch. All bits are designed, developed and handmade in the Netherlands. Every day a team of technical professionals works on the production of the TRUST bits. Trust bits are composed with the greatest care and made of the best materials, the quality control and standard is therefore very high.
TRUST bits are anatomically shaped. The balance between shape, material and weight is constantly taken into account. TRUST bits are slightly curved so that they are better shaped towards the horse’s mouth. Because of this anatomical shape, the bit lies better in the mouth and the pressure is better distributed.
